During the height of the COVID19 pandemic in Cebu in 2021, one event stood out to be beacon of hope and creativity despite all the uncertainty and restricions and that was the debut edition of the Visayas Art Fair (VAF) in November 2021.   This year, that groundbreaking event promises to be even bigger and better as it returns to the island from November 24-27, 2022 at the Oakridge Businenss Park in Mandaue.

              The VAF is the main component of Cebu Design Week 2022 with the theme: “Connecting the Islands Through Art”.  33 galleries representing nearly 500 artists and more than 1,500 art works will undoubtedly wow the thousands of visitors expected to attend the 4-day event.  14 of the galleries exhibiting will be from the National Capital Region so visitors will be able to get a good representation of the pieces that are being produced in most populous part of the Philippines.

              Complementing the exhibits are a series for talks, workshops, performances and shows that will definitely enhance the experience for students, practitioners, enthusiasts and other stakeholders.  Ultimately, the goal of the organizers is not just to provide access, enhance awareness and elevate art appreciation but also to demonstrate the economic of art as a profession.
