The Philippines finally has a city of Creative City of Gastronomy and that is the City of Iloilo in the Western Visayas region.

                  Iloilo joins Baguio (City of Crafts and Folk Art) and Cebu (City of Design) to be the third member of the prestigious UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN).

                 Spanning seven creative disciplines, the UCCN is composed of 300+ cities worldwide that have identified creativity as a key strategy in achieving sustainable urban growth in all spheres – from economic, social and environmental.

                  Iloilo has a long history of creativity in gastronomy and is known for its iconic dishes such batchoy ang pancit molo.  It has also embarked on numerous projects to strengthen their food chain, elevate the quality of their local cuisine and raise awareness on the importance of gastronomic tourism in the contemporary scene.
