In the hypercompetitive, lightning paced and extremely volatile post-pandemic world, it is imperative that we attempt to keep pace with everything that is happening so we remain not just relevant but can continue to thrive in these new paradigms.

Many pundits emphasize the importance of empathy – the ability to understand and share the feelings of another – and creativity – the tendency to generate or recognize ideas, alternatives, or possibilities that may be useful in solving problems, communicating with others, and entertaining ourselves and others.

However, these may not be enough to differentiate ourselves and establish our leadership chops.  Rama Gheerawo, the Director of the Helen Hamlyn Centre of Design at London’s Royal College of Art, wrote a book during the COVID19 lockdowns that argues the equally important third dimension – and that is clarity.

Clarity should encompass, purpose, execution and communication and goes hand in hand with both empathy and creativity. To learn more about this simple yet impactful insight, one can purchase Rama’s book “Creative Leadership Born from Design” from Amazon.
